 Workshop on Emotional Intelligence by Ms. Jayshree Mehta

A workshop on Emotional Intelligence was conducted for the junior and middle school teachers of the school on January 14, 2017 in the school auditorium. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Jayshree Mehta who has been associated with NIE, TOI for the last fifteen years. Ms. Jayshree has conducted several hundred classroom workshops on Personality Development and its various facets.

Ms. Jayshree initiated a discussion on positive and negative aspects of human personality to introduce the topic. She stressed upon the importance of self-awareness, understanding our own and others’ emotions and accepting our negative emotions in order to feel liberated.



A Workshop was organized in KIIT World School on “web rangers” focusing on Cyber Safety on 24 December, 2016. Two students participated in the workshop.

The workshop was conducted by Uma Balan. It was very informative and she told the students about online child safety .



Gender sensitivity workshop was held on 21 November.Schneider Electric Company conducted a gender sensitization workshop for students of classes 5 to 7.Resource person Ms. Nazia Khan addressed the students .Role play and short skits on the subject were prepared by the students during the session .


 Journée de FLE- French Workshop

Journée de FLE was conducted on 26th November 2016 at Venkteshwar International School, Dwarka Sector - 10, Dwarka New Delhi - 110075 from 9:00 to 3:30pm

The workshop focused on practical classroom teaching, importance of task based learning , collaborative writing techniques and the new methodologies to improve learning of Foreign language . The focus was on making writing skills more interesting in class.

Learning objective: Use of songs in teaching foreign language.How one can make writing skills interesting.

On 27th October 2016, a Career Fair was organized by Knowledge Confluence at Tagore International School, East of Kailash for classes XI-XII. Interactive and informative  sessions were taken by eminent  representatives of the reputed Universities . 

Educational  institutions such as :Noida International University, DIT University, Shiv Nadar University, RIG Institute of Hospitality and Management, participated and guided students about  the various study options at undergraduate level, shared information regarding scholarships, admission procedure ,eligibility criteria’s and internship programmes .Also, various quizzes were conducted for the students and attractive prizes were given. 

Thus, it was a very informative and learning experience for the students .



 TCS workshop- Progarmme Launchpad and Insight

The workshop was attended by class XI computer Science students along with PGT, Ms. Shikha Shah. 
Ms. Vidhi from TCS  introduced programme InsighT and programme Launchpad.

InsighT - An online self learning tool with lessons in videos and quizzes on advanced programming concepts and life cycle of software development for class XI and XII. At the end of the course the students are assigned case studies to work in groups in which they come up with solutions in the form of programs. The programming languages available are C++ or Python. Exceptional projects will be assigned merit certificates from TCS.
LaunchPad - An online self learning tool with lessons in videos and quizzes on basics of programming for classes VIII and IX .The course is designed in game format. The programming languages available are C++ or Python. 
These initiatives will help students develop both their programming and analytical skills which will definitely be helpful for them in the long run.



A Workshop was organized “INTERNET SECURITY” focusing on Cyber Safety on October 8, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (Saturday) at Nehru Planetarium Conference hall.

Workshop conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth Development

The school played host to a unique outreach program  on social harmony.  Twenty five students of Class XI, Tagore International School East of Kailash attended a Workshop conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth Development  under the agies of the Ministry of Youth Affairs from 4th to 6th October, 2016. Our students were joined  by 25 students of the same class  from the Kautilya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Chirag Delhi. This program brought together students from different strata  of society. The workshop was conducted by three experienced  resource people from the RGIYD. 
The students interacted with each other and enjoyed the various activities and group discussions over the three days. They were provided with sumptuous  Tea and  lunch. This workshop saw bonhomie and friendship among he students of both schools.

There were many people from UNODC in Tagore international School, Vasant Vihar to update the students about the drug abuse. There were many schools who were participating apart from our school. They wanted the schools to take initiative to spread awareness on drug abuse among their students. They also educated the students on harmful effects of using markers and whiteners. The students of class X-C interacted with author, Ms. Payal Dhar on 6 October, 2016 in the school premises. The author discussed her book, ‘Slightly Burnt; with the students and read out extracts from the text. After interacting with the students, Ms. Dhar engaged in a discussion on various aspects of reading and writing with the students. The event concluded with an invigorating question-answer session between the author and the students.




The Career Fair

On 4th October 2016, a Career Fair was organized at Tagore International School, East of Kailash for classes IX-XII. Interactive and informative sessions were taken by eminent resource persons namely Mr.Gaurav Varma (Founder/Director, Academic and professional studies abroad), Mr.Prashanth (IMS) and Mr.Jitin Chawla (Director, Center for Career Development).

Educational and career guidance institutions such as :International Institute of Hotel Management, Universal Business School, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Academic & Professional Studies Abroad, Discover Matrix Pty Ltd, Ed Elevate, Centre for Career Development, IMS and many more participated and guided students about the various study options at undergraduate level, shared information regarding scholarships, admission procedure ,eligibility criteria’s and internship programmes .

Thus, it was a very informative and learning experience for the students .



Meet the Author: Shalini Srinivasan

Date: 6 September 2016

Students of Class VI had a tete-a-tete session with the author Shalini Srinivasan. Ms. Shalini is an Indian author who writes for children. She has also written a number of comics. Her first novel, Vanamala and the Cephalopod is a Crossword Book Award nominee and was featured in the prestigious White Ravens international catalogue. 

To begin with, she revealed some of the details of her latest book Gangamma’s Gharial and then narrated an extract from the book for the students. The students were enthusiastic to know about the author’s interests, hobbies and her childhood. Ms. Shalini shared a few tips on creative writing with the students and signed a few copies of the book for the children. Overall, the session was interesting and captivating and inspired the budding writers.




Sept 1 & 2, 2016

A two-days Robotics Conclave “UTKRAANTI-2017” was conducted in the school in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on Sept 1-2, 2016, as an endeavor to provide the students an opportunity to explore the basics of electronics, embedded systems, open source programming and basic knowledge about working robots. About 65 students participated from classes VI-XI. They got hands on experience on Arduino Programming under the guidance of IIT students.


Workshop On Web Rangers

A Workshop was organized in ASN Senior Secondary School on “web rangers” focusing on Cyber Safety on 4th August, 2016. Two students from class 10th participated in the workshop.The workshop was conducted by UMA BALAN. It was very informative and she told the students about online child safety and then the students have to create their own campaigns, promoting safe use of the Internet.

Recent Changes in the Curriculum for Accountancy

Workshop on the recent changes in Accountancy curriculum was held at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar on 30 th July, 2016 by the Commerce Teachers’ Foundation. The eminent author, Prof. V. Wason, conducted the workshop. Three main topics were covered in this workshop – (1) Accounting of ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan), (2) Conversion of Debenture and (3) Debenture Redemption Reserve (DRR). Prof. Wason gave clarity about how to pass journal entries for ESOP with comprehensive examples and explained the various cases of DRR. Many doubts from the above mentioned topics were clarified in this workshop.

Capacity Building Programme on Scholastic Aspects of CCE
DATE- 1/07/16 and 2/07/16

A two day’s workshop on Scholastic aspect of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation was organized for teachers. It was conducted by Mrs. Neera Chopra. The importance of language for the acquisition of knowledge and for the thinking process was emphasized in the workshop. The teachers were given further clarification on the parameters of grading and assessment. Developing the rubrics for every task was also stressed upon. The workshop was indeed an eye opener as it cleared doubts and brought to light many aspects that are important for fair and effective implementation of the CCE. The interaction was informative as well as entertaining as it had a wide variety of interesting activities for teachers. Every activity held relevance as it gave practical knowledge and hands- on experience to the teachers on how to deal with diverse aspects of evaluation. They enjoyed the activities and presented them with full vigor. The teachers were enriched about the capacity building and the implementation of CCE and FAs in the curriculum.


Workshop – Coach Them Young

Google Apps for Education

A workshop on Google Apps was conducted by Ms. Ritika Narang- A certified Google Trainer for teachers of classes IX-XII. The workshop aimed at teaching google apps and getting basic certification from google. Hands on experience were given on Google Forms, Docs, Worksheets, Calendar and google +.


Students of Tagore International School, East of Kailash went for Creative Workshops and Exhibition - Compassion in Action- the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi & HH The 14th Dalai Lama, to seek blessings of The Dalai Lama on 8 July 2016.


School Counsellors’ Conference

On 29rd April 2016, a School Counsellors’ Conference was organized by King’s College London, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. King’s College London, is England’s 4th oldest University, with 12 Nobel Prize winners amongst its alumni.

Professionals from various schools attended the conference. The admission procedure, eligibility criteria’s, scholarship schemes, courses offered at undergraduate level, internship and placement opportunities were discussed in detail at the conference.

The University provides global opportunities with the help of 300 global partner institutions and expands personal and professional horizons to boost employability. Ms. Anshita Meen, our school counselor attended the workshop and found it to be very informative.


University Summer School

On April 25, 2016, Mr. Prateek Deka, Manager- Corporate Interaction from Amity University’s Placement Centre, visited our school and spoke on “University Summer School” which is a 2 week university certificate programme by Amity University. The programme is for students of class X to XII and will be conducted from 23rd May to 3rd June 2016 at their Noida Campus. Mr. Deka presented a video and a PowerPoint presentation showing the specifications of the programme.



On 23rd April 2016, a workshop on “Inclusion” was conducted at Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri . The workshop highlighted the importance of inclusive education and its adaptation in the main stream system. The main speakers at the workshop were Ms. Rashmi Dhawan, Ms.Shikha Chopra, Ms.Sujatha, Ms.Dolly, Ms.Simi, Ms.Navneet, Ms. Meenakshi Khemka & Ms.Meenu Arora.

The workshop provided in depth understanding of the meaning of inclusion, benefits & challenges in inclusion, modifications, adaptations, accommodation for students with special education needs, CCE in an inclusive set up and the role of counselling. Practical examples and activities were shared to implement inclusion in a meaningful way by the mainstream teachers. A disability quiz was organized to help the participants discover the concerns and assumptions they have about people with disabilities.

Inclusive education is based on the simple idea that every child and family is valued equally and deserves the same opportunities and experiences. It is about children with disabilities. The key is to give only as much help as is needed. Inclusion emphasizes the need for the schools to adapt as per the child and giving the child a sense of belonging. Our school counsellors Ms.Anshita Meen & Ms.Swinky Malik attended the workshop.

Nine is Mine

‘Haq Ki Shor’ is a monthly platform for children to speak on issues related to children, organized by NINEISMINE.

Four students of our school, Nakul Gandhi, Arsh Ahmad, Nakul Panwar and Limesh Mishra, all from Class XI, participated in Haq Ki Shor – ‘Social Media for Social Change’ on 22nd April 2016 (World Earth Day) which was organized at the library hall on Bhai Vir Singh Marg, Gole Market.

Winners were decided on the basis of the number of likes for the page which was designed by the students and its post. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the competition. Our students won the second position in the event.

Intergenerational Yoga Workshop

On April 23rd , 2016 the Intergenerational Yoga Workshop was organized by Times Foundation and Intergenerativity group at Tagore International school, East of Kailash to actively engage the two most important generations of our society- “the Elderly” and “Children”. Forty students of our school from classes VI - VIII, 35 parents and nearly 30 grandparents participated in the workshop. The yoga was conducted by Swami Vidyanandji- a Yoga expert and founder YAI. Guests from Times Foundation and Helpage India too participated in the workshop.


The Sally Ride EarthKAM Conducted By SPACE

Five students of Class XI participated in the EarthKAM workshop held on Tuesday, April 12,2016 at Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 18 Dwarka. ISS EarthKAM is an international educational programme of NASA through which school students can select and take stunning, high quality images of Earth from a digital camera mounted at a nadir window in the Destiny Lab of the International Space Station (ISS). The workshop was a unique opportunity for students to control a digital camera on board the International Space Station. Students took photographs of desired locations of planet Earth. The students expressed their gratitude to Principal Ma’am for this wonderful opportunity.





Ms. Richa Bhardwaj, TGT- English attended the Annual Meet organized by HT Pace on 29th March 2016 at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. Resource person Dr. Anupam Sibal, spoke extensively on ‘Effective Parenting’. The teachers presented small skits which made way to invigorating discussions. The issues dealt with included obesity, unnecessary pressure on children, fixation with size zero etc. The meet turned out to be great platform for sharing ideas and experiences.




Math. Workshop for Primary and Pre-primary Teachers

On 23rd March 2016, Math teachers of pre-primary and primary classes attended a Math workshop conducted by Ms.Preeti Chaddha, at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar.. The event was meticulously planned and suggested a number of activities to integrate Math with other subjects as well as with day-to-day activities. The teachers thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese and Lattice method of multiplication and also the clever use of musical notes to multiply using Vedic math. It was an enlightening and fun-filled experience for the teachers, that would promote the critical and higher order thinking skills of students.

Workshop on the use of Extramarks software

A workshop was held at Tagore International School, East of Kailash on Saturday, 19th March 2016 to familiarize teachers with the layout and tools available in the Extramarks software. The software provides material for study, practice and testing. This includes Mind Maps, SLMs, Animations, Virtual Labs, Quizzes, HOTS, Sample Papers, MCQs etc. Teachers of classes VI to XII attended the workshop which was conducted by Mr. Mohd. Sami of Extramarks. Mr. Sami conducted subject wise tours of the package, describing the resources provided and explaining the way to navigate through it.


Road Show: Google Apps for Education

Ms. Shikha Shah, PGT Computer Science and Ms. Jayalakshmi, TGT Computer Science attended the 1st ever Road show on Google Apps for Education, held at Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon on 17th March 2016. The event was designed to showcase the use of Google Apps for Education in classrooms, Google certifications for Educators and Chrome Notebooks.


Capacity Building Programme on Innovation and Leadership Skills

On 16 th March, 2016, Mr. Vijay Gusain, PGT, Physical Education and Ms. Lipi Goswami, PGT, Physics attended a one day Capacity Building Programme on Innovation and Leadership Skills, organised by ‘Quality Education Asia’ at KIIT World School, Pitampura. The resource person, Ms. Rupam Shah, laid emphasis on the tenets of leadership, change management, relationship between different leadership styles, through various activities and role play.


Robotics Workshop Conducted by Robosapiens

A two day teachers’ workshop on Robotics was held at Tagore International School, East of Kailash on 8th and 10th March, 2016. On day 1, Mr. Gaurav, from Robosapiens discussed the laws of Robotics, applications in different fields and the working of several electronic components that are used .

Participants were given kits containing the Arduino development board with the Atmega-8 Micro Controller , a double digit display unit, switches, a buzzer, LEDs, variable resistor and connecting wires. Teachers could write simple programs on the Arduino platform, which is an OSS, to control light and sound.

On Day 2, Mr. Anurag, also from Robosapiens, discussed some more theoretical concepts and helped the participants with more practical exercises.


Education, Life, Careers in Canada

Ms. Anu Gupta, PGT, Geography, attended a workshop on ‘Education, Life, Careers in Canada’ on 5th March 2016 at the Leela Palace Hotel, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Mr. Mel Broitman, Director, Canadian University Application Centre, Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, President and Vice Chancellor ,Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Canada and Marie Braswell, Director of Admissions and Recruitment, Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Canada were the resource persons for the session.

The workshop gave an insight into Canadian education system and what makes Canada, a sought after destination for students. The participants were also briefed about the admission process in Canadian universities.

The workshop turned out to be quite informative and insightful for those looking forward to education in Canada.

Interactive Session with Captain Sunita Williams, US Astronaut of Indian origin on February 26, 2016

SPACE (Space Technology & Education Pvt. Ltd.) hosted an Interactive Session with Captain Sunita Williams US Astronaut of Indian origin, at India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road on February 26, 2016, from 1:00 pm-2:30pm. The session was moderated by Chairman & Managing Director-SPACE, Mr. Sachin Bahmba. It was a good opportunity for the students of the school to get a firsthand information about the life and works of Captain Sunita Williams.

In conversation with Sachin Bhamba, Captain Williams discussed about her journey of life before she was an astronaut and beyond this planet. The session enabled students to get an insight into her life and understand her better.

The session was an inspiring one. The students expressed their gratitude to the Principal Nandita Sahu for this wonderful opportunity.

Workshop-“Citizen Survey for Solid Waste Management in Delhi” held on Feb 23, 2016 by Mr. Mohit Sharma and Ms. Komal Verma

The Council on Energy , Environment and Water (CEEW) an independent Non-Government organization organized a workshop on solid waste management to bring in awareness amongst the young generation  about the degrading conditions of the environment . Class VIII students participated in the workshop

A presentation was shown and explained to the students why we should segregate the solid waste and put it to use.

Survey forms were distributed to the students for individual household information on waste management.

Workshop-“Hindi shikshan ki chunautiya” (SARV – SAHODYA CLUSTER) held on Feb 20, 2016 by Ms.Sharda Kumari, Director, SCERT, Delhi and Mr. Manoj Kumar Kain, assistant professor at PGDAV college.

Tagore International School, East of Kailash organised a workshop on “Hindi shikshan ki chunautiya” (Challenges in Hindi education) for the teachers of the Sarv Sahoday Cluster schools and gave them tips on how to make Hindi an interesting subject.The workshop was conducted by Mrs.Sharda Kumari, Director, SCERT, Delhi and Mr. Manoj Kumar Kain, assistant professor at PGDAV college. The workshop witnessed the participation of over 35 teachers from about 9 schools of the city.

Workshop -"Destination Moon & Planet Watch" held on Feb 17, 2016


SPACE Explorers workshop is a collection of one day programs which focus on teaching Space Science and Astronomy to students through practical hands on experience. The students get an out of textbook learning experience, which help them develop their knowledge base as well as life skills.

  • They are involved in group activities which inculcate team work and leadership skills.
  • They are made to answer critical thinking questions which inculcate logical reasoning skills.

A team of eighty Chinese students and ten teachers visited Tagore International School, East of Kailash on 28 January 2016. Atlantis Innovation & Edu Travels Pvt. Ltd, a leading international education outreach company in the Indian subcontinent, had organized the friendly trip.

The guests were given a traditional welcome and were greeted by the Principal of the school, Nandita Sahu. The students and teachers from China interacted with the faculty and students of the host school and participated in various activities arranged by them in the science and math labs and in the art room. They thoroughly enjoyed the various cultural events which included music and dances of India.

Various dance forms of India were organised to acquaint the guests with the Indian culture and its rich heritage. The Chinese students also enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball and cricket matches with the Tagoreans. They were deeply touched by the hospitality of their Indian counterparts and thanked everyone for the love, care and warmth showered on them by the Tagoreans.

Proctor & Gamble has organized an “Adolescents Workshop” on Girls Hygiene in the School Premises by Ms Malina on 16th January’2016

Proctor & Gamble has organized an “Adolescents Workshop” on Girls Hygiene in the School Premises on 16th January’2016. Ms Malina spoke to class VI and VII girl students about coping up with the changes they go through at that age in a confident manner and accepting the right hygiene practices.

Overall it was informative session for the students and they participated actively.

SCRAPLABS workshop was organised on 29 December, 2015 for classes III-V

To initiate the journey of critical and creative thinking a workshop was conducted in the school premises on 29 December, 2015 for classes III - V. The workshop emphasized on ‘Learning by doing’ and ‘Trial Error’ methodology. The students were provided with DIY kits which included activities such as glowing of LED bulbs, motor connection etc. The students enjoyed doing various activities during the workshop.

Tagore International School, East of Kaliash hosted a performance of the renowned cellist and composer from Netherlands, Ms. Saskia Rao under the aegis of SPIC MACAY on 10 December, 2015 in the school premises

Tagore International School, East of Kaliash hosted a performance of the renowned cellist and composer from Netherlands, Ms. Saskia Rao under the aegis of SPIC MACAY on 10 December 2015 in the school premises. Students of classes VI & VII got the opportunity to witness this lecture demonstration. She, along with Mr. Durjaya Bhaumick, a well acclaimed percussionist was accorded a traditional welcome and the programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Ms. Saskia, who has been awarded by the prestigious, Pandit Jasraj-Rotary Club of Hyderabad Award, explained the different taals and asked questions about the digital tanpura. Next she presented a beautiful unheard version of morning raga followed by a similar raga. The performance came alive when a beautiful version of Ekla Chalo Re was played. It was indeed a soul stirring experience for all the students to witness the performance of such an acclaimed artist.

Workshop VISION 2020 was organised on 5th December,2015 by Ms. Geetanjali Kumar and Ms. Usha.

Ms. Geetanjali Kumar and Ms. Usha, well renowned counseling psychologists and teacher trainers conducted a workshop titled’ Vision 2020 in Tagore International School, East of Kailash. The workshop aimed to make the teaching staff reflect on their roles as teachers and gauge the amount of enthusiasm they experience before or while conducting their classes.

Ms. Geetanjali and Ms. Usha started the workshop with certain warm up exercises. This was followed by a group exercise in which teachers were asked to choose a name for their group and enact the same. The resource persons discussed about promoting divergent thinking and creativity in a classroom. They re-iterated the importance of rebuilding our comfort zones and un-learning as well as re-learning.

Following this, the teaching staff was divided into groups and was asked to prepare a presentation on the topic ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’. All the groups were given various sub topics under this topic such as Media, School, Society, Family etc. Teachers showcased their creativity through various mediums such as Role-Play situation, Radio Talk Show and Group Discussion. The workshop concluded with teachers reflecting on the presentations made by their colleagues. Overall, the workshop was extremely interactive. All the staff members benefitted from the session.

On 27thNovember,she explained Geogebra, as interactive mathematics software for learning and teaching mathematics.Teachers and students can use GeoGebra to make conjectures and to understand how to prove geometric theorems.The teachers also practiced, created, showcased and uploaded their work on geogebra .On 28th November, she explained desmos- graphing functions, plotting tables of data, evaluating equations, exploring transformations,what and how of Desmos followed by few handcrafted classroom activities. Teachers learnt and practiced use of Desmos. Also, some livebinders-collection of interactive lessons, YouTube videos on ratio and proportion, linear equations, geometry, probability etc. were shown that enables a maths teacher to enhance her teaching.

An awareness drive was organised for classes III, IV and V by NGO, ‘i volunteer –Cummins’. In their mission to serve the community and protect the planet, they showed a short film which was followed by a quiz. The students enjoyed watching the movie and actively participated in the quiz.
"Career Planning” workshop was organized for classes IX and X on 26th November 2015 in school premises. Mrs. Toolika Krishna, Chief Career Planner at ‘iDreamCareer’ was the resource person for the session.

She also helped them explore various career options, related to the streams of Science, Commerce and Humanities.

The Bookaroo Festival, an author session was conducted for students of class IV. The author was Ms. Satomi Ichikawa who is a writer and illustrator, drawing is her passion on 26 November,2015
As a part of the Bookaroo Festival, an author session was conducted for students of class IV. The author was Ms. Satomi Ichikawa who is a writer and illustrator, drawing is her passion. In her session titled ‘Let's Set the Animals Free’, she showed the illustrations in the book written by her. She narrated a story of parrot which was in a cage and later was freed in a jungle where he enjoyed eating mangoes. She also showed her belongings which she uses for drawing and colouring while travelling. Students actively participated in the workshop. They drew birds and fruits and then cut the pictures and pasted on the drawing made by Satomi. She encouraged each and every student to paste the picture in her illustration done on the board and appreciated the children’s effort. The session was very interesting and captivating for the students

Youth Parliament- The cradle of Leadership held on November 24, 2015
Students of Classes X, XI and XII participated in Youth Parliament held on 24th November 2015 in school premises. Dr. Nirmal Kumar, Professor at the Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi and Dr. Prabha Rani, Professor of History, Lady Shri Ram College; inaugurated the session by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The esteemed guests were welcomed warmly by Principal, Nandita Sahu who presented them with the auspicious Basil plant and a traditional shawl. The session commenced with the arrival of the Speaker Manya Malkotia of Class XII-A and the oath was taken by the leaders of the respective political parties. The session commenced with the Question Hour followed by the Zero Hour where issues of national importance were raised.

The leader of the ruling coalition then asked for leave from the Speaker to introduce the first Bill i.e. the ‘ Amendment to Capital Punishment Bill, 2015’ and read out the accompanying clauses, which were deliberated upon in great detail. The Bill was finally passed in favour of the Treasury Bench and the speaker adjourned the house for lobbying after introducing the Adjournment Motion.

The second half of the session began with discussions on the Adjournment Motion and creative solutions were provided by each member to tackle a recent development that had taken place in the country.

This was succeeded by the introduction of the second Bill i.e. ‘Legal Accountability of the Police’ by the leader of the Opposition. Each clause was attended to in great length with possible amendments being suggested by members of both alliances. The Bill was at last passed with four surviving clauses. The session was then put to a close by the worthy Speaker. This was followed by the vote of thanks and the National Anthem.

A Workshop on Innovative Teaching Strategies was conducted in the school premises by Ms. Geetika Kapoor, a nationally certified school psychologist on 21 November,2015
The teachers of primary classes, Nursery to V got an opportunity to attend a workshop, aimed at identifying new teaching strategies to ensure maximum student participation and learning in classroom. The workshop was conducted in the school premises by Ms. Geetika Kapoor, a nationally certified school psychologist. She is a strong advocate of children’s development needs and has been actively working towards creating systems to ensure child safety and reach the best of their ability. The teacher participants had a great learning experience as the overall session was highly interactive.  Every day classroom problems were discussed and best ways to solve them were thought upon. By the end of workshop, the participants were able to effectively come up with ways to motivate students to increase their classroom participation and learning, enhance the collaboration between parents, teachers and students and identify key indicators of educational achievements

The career counseling team from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India addressed the commerce students of classes XI and XII and Humanities students of class XI. In their interaction with students, the team from ICAI emphasized on the importance of planning and decision regarding their careers prior to Board examinations. They emphasized the importance of preparation for various entrance exams meant for commerce students and the timely filling of forms and registration by the students. They also talked about the numerous career choices available for the commerce students. The team talked about the CA course and its entrance examination. The session proved to be insightful for the students.

Experiential Learning Workshop," Future of Mobility " at BMW Group E-novation Centre, Gurgaon for class XII B on 4th November,2015

A day trip was organized for students of Class XII B to BMW training Centre, Gurgaon on 4th November 2015. They were accompanied by Ms. Minakshi Choudhary, PGT, Business Studies. The students were welcomed by Mr. Jyoti Raman, Head Manager, BMW, Delhi and NCR. In his presentation, he briefed the students about BMW, its establishment and how it became a name to reckon with. The students were also briefed about the eco-friendly ways adopted by the organization, as a part of their Welfare Initiative for society. The students were given an overview of BMW i8, their latest model and its unique features. It was followed by an engaging session for students where they were divided into groups of 5, with each group presenting some innovative solutions for the various societal problems, keeping in mind the technology used by BMW i8. The winning team was awarded with the replica of the new BMW i8 and an exclusive ride in the new BMW i8 and the runner ups were presented with exclusive bags and a ride on BMW bicycles. All students got a chance to hop in their favourite BMW cars and enjoy a ride.

Students of XI A and XI B attended a workshop on ‘Careers in Design’ on 3rd November, 2015. Ms. Shruti Malik and Mr. Hemant Kumar Singh from DSK International Campus gave an overview of the campus, labs and teaching/learning techniques at their institute.  They also briefed students about the courses in animation, video games, and industrial/ product design and showed videos made by students of DSK, that have done well commercially.   They pointed out that the training was a way for students to explore and demonstrate their creative skills.  Ms. Shruti Malik informed students about the placement opportunities provided by the institute. Students also participated in a hands-on session, where they were asked to design a product to bring out their creativity and artistic ability.
