Skimmer team won Best Sportsmanship Award at AWIM National Olympics at Pune

SAE India organised the AWIM National Olympics in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki , Mahindra and Mahindra and Cummins India in Balewadi , Pune  from 20 to 22 January 2018 .A total of 75 teams from all across the country participated in this event and our skimmer  team comprising of Satvik Phalswal and Lal Nunkimi of  class V B and Shreyas Rajput and Abhilash Pradhan of class V C won the award for best sportsmanship. Our teacher Mrs Neetu Swarnakar also won the National Award for the Best teacher in the skimmer category. Our student volunteer Dikshant Pratap Singh also won the National Award for the Best Volunteer in the Skimmer category.

Ishayu Datta participated in the Junior First Lego League

Ishayu Datta of I A participated in the Junior First Lego League, India competition from Delhi and NCR region hosted by the India STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Foundation on 20 January 2018 at Gurugram. Ishayu and his team designed, built and programmed an autonomous robotic model using the "We Do program" concept. The theme of the model was Household Water Recycling and Rainwater Harvesting. His team received a certificate of participation, a medal and a trophy.

Tagoreans excelled at National level Creative writing competition

Katha’s search for excellence in creative writing competition is designed to draw out the storyteller in every child. This year the creative writing competition was held at three levels. For the first round about 15000 entries were received by the organizers. Out of these; 1200 were selected for the ‘Regional Round’. After a grueling ‘Regional Round’ 12 students of our school were selected for the ‘National Round.’

Creative writing

Rhea Luthra qualified for the National level of the French Spell Bee 2017

Rhea Luthra of VI C qualified for the National level of the French Spell Bee 2017 competition. Students from all over India and abroad participated in this competition. Rhea cleared 3 rounds and lost out in the Tie-Breaker round. She was awarded a medal and a prize for the same.

Tagoreans participated in F1 in schools, a national event organized by Time of Sports

F1 in schools, a national event organized by Time of Sports began in the month of October 2017 and culminated with events spread over three days from 12 January 2018 to 14 January 2018 at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. Team VOLARE from our school comprising of 6 students from classes VII-X represented school in this event. They designed a prototype of Formula1 Car and raced it on the tracks. Though they got qualified for the second round as one of the 64 teams out of 140, they lost eventually.

Gurmaan Singh and Garv Gupta of class VII C participated in CBSE Science Exhibition under Mathematics Modelling category held at Evergreen Sr. Secondary School, Vasundhara Enclave. They presented a trick to solve quadratic equations and got selected for the national level.

Maalav Chakravarty of VII B decided to pursue his interest in playing his favourite musical instrument, tabla. He has been awarded with senior diploma certificate from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. After four years of effort he has secured first division with distinction marks in both practical and theory examinations.

H. Shweta of IX C won third prize in Carnatic Classical Music

H. Shweta of IX C took part in Music Competition “SARGOTSAVAM 2017” and won third prize in Carnatic Classical Music for Seniors. This is an annual state level music/dance/fine art competition organized by JANASAMSKRITI held under the aegis of Kerala Education Society, Delhi. One participant each in various art forms are selected from the 20 different centres in Delhi for taking part in the finals. Out of the 20 final contestants who took part in competition held on 11 November 2017 at Kerala Education Society School, Canning Road, Shweta got the third prize. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Arvind Kejriwal.

Tagoreans qualified for the State Level competition

The government of India organised the science activities exhibition at the district level in October. Anshika Sansanwal of IX B and Pranav Anand of IX C participated in mathematical modelling and qualified for the zonal level competition. They went for the three day zonal level exhibition. Out of 30 projects, 5 were selected out of which one was ours. They will be going for the state level exhibition in December.

Triumphant Institute of Management Education organised a national level science quiz

Aqua Regia where over 4000 teams participated in the Delhi region. Our school team comprising of our ace quizzers Karthik Gupta and Arsh Mishra of IX C were the runners up in the regional round they were both awarded a Timex watch.

Tagoreans shine at tGELF’s Business Entrepreneurship Program

Our school team of Hrithik Malik, Aaishani Parashar and Arsalan Sheikh  from class XII  A participated in the tGELF competition “Owning your future” business entrepreneurship program. The hard work and dedication of the students paid off when their project got selected out of hundred projects from all over India. The finale hosted by Neeti Aayog took place at Vigyan Bhavan on 18 November 2017 and our students have been able to secure a prestigious spot among the top 10 finalists of the country.

Our School’s Project Sehpaathi selected top project at National Level 

Our School’s Project Sehpaathi was awarded as the top project at Harmony 2017, the National Finals of the Youth Leader 2017, an initiative of The Global Education & Leadership student engagement programme, held on 26 November 2017.  Under Project Sehpaathi, an endeavour by students of class IX, led by youth leaders Arsh Misra and Syed Sameed Anwar of class IX,  a government senior secondary school in Joniawas village of district Gurugram was adopted by the school. Within a span of six months, the students have been instrumental in providing Quality Education, one of the Global Goals of Sustainable Development created by the UN, to the students of the adopted school. In an on-going endeavour to transform the school into a model government school, the students, along with the Project Head of the school Ms. Anubhuti Bhattacharya have been making weekly visits to the school to conduct activities, hold workshops, have training and interactive sessions with students and teachers, with the aim of improving the quality of education in the field of science, art, sports, health and hygiene and computer. The recognition for Project Sehpaathi as the top project came after four stages of elimination rounds held at state and regional levels, spread over a span of seven months.  

At a gala award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, the two youth leaders received individual cash awards and trophies, cash awards and certificate of participation on behalf of other participants of project Sehpaathi. The power point presentation presented to a panel of esteemed judges, showcased the team’s efforts towards the project, which included the adopted cause, what was envisioned, the innovations used, the challenges faced and milestones achieved.  Besides, the campaign team has also arranged for AMP+ Solar Pvt. Ltd. to provide solar panels to the adopted school as an energy sufficient source.

The event was a culmination of tGELF’s annual endeavour to identify leadership potential and to honour today’s youth for their outstanding acts of community service.

Neev Swarnakar of X B acted in a short film named 'Kaagpanth

Neev Swarnakar of X B acted in a short film named 'Kaagpanth 'which will be showcased across major film festivals in India and abroad. Kaagpanth is the 2nd film under the banner of 'Ma Karma Yogi Productions' who have already won Golden Peacock Award for their earlier film in the Jaipur film festival .The film stars well known theatre and tv personalities like Yashpal Sharma, Rohit Pathak etc. The film has been shot across Jaipur city in the summer holidays and the acting work of Neev has been appreciated by the entire cast and crew.

Tagoreans declared Overall Winner of Skimmer event & Jet Toy Car event at AWIM Regional Olympics 2017
Maruti Suzuki sponsored AWIM regionals  for the Delhi region was held at Hotel Maple Emerald , Gurugram on 24 October 2017. A total of 23  teams from top schools of Delhi participated in this event .
Our Jet Toy team comprising of Sakina Nadeem , Aryan Kalra , Aishani Kumar of  VI C and Rehan Ahmed of VI A were declared the overall winner of the jet toy competition and were also awarded the category award in time round.
Our Skimmer team comprising of Satvik Phalswal , Lal Nunkimi of V B, Shreyas Rajput and Abhilash Pradhan of V C were  declared the overall winner of skimmer competition and were also awarded the category awards for accuracy and weights round.
Both the teams will now  compete in the AWIM nationals at Pune in January 2018.

Our School won trophy for overall third position at the Zonal Level Science Activities and Exhibition organized by DOE (Directorate Of Education)

Our students won the first prize in Science Drama competition and the topic for the competition was “Digital India”. Participants were:

Vanshika Kathuria and Ansh Matta of class IX A  stood first in the Science Seminar Presentation. The topic for the presentation was “Role of Science and Technology in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”

Ujjawal Shukla of class IX B won the third position in the Science Debate competition. The topic for the debate was “Mobile : a convenience or a problem”

Aashray Mittal of class VII won the second prize in the junior category. The topic was “Petroleum Pollution”

Aadya Gupta of class IV A stood first in the Sub-Junior category. The topic was ‘Make our Planet Green’.

In Science Toon competition, students had to design a cartoon on any scientific theme. Yash Marwah of VIII B secured the third position.

Science and Math were collectively represented with a mathematical model named ‘Fractal’. Anshika Sansanwal and Pranav Anand of class IX presented their creation and won the third prize for the same.

Winners of Anveshan 2017 @ ITIHAAS

Anveshan is an annual Heritage based music event organized by ITIHAAS-The Indian, Traditions and Heritage Society with the aim of encouraging young students to endeavor, explore and experience their local heritage. It provides the school students a unique opportunity to venture out, collect information, stories, lore and legends linked to their local culture, traditions and historical landmarks and weave them together into a melodious song. 27 students of classes VI-VIII participated in this event and won the First prize. Our budding lyricists Saivansh Kwatra, Vaaruni Khanna, Sakina Nadeem wrote the song.The participants are-

Tagoreans were Runners up in South Asia at World Scholar’s Cup at Hanoi

On 30 and 31 January, World Scholar’s Cup organized its Delhi NCR regional round. Our school sent two teams comprising of Sanjeet Agarwal of X, Shrey Chhabra of XI, Aamod Mehrish of XII and second team of Aaradhya Kukreja of XII, V. Chaitanya of X and Anshul Bhardwaj. They performed exceptionally well and received invitation for Hanoi Global round which was held in last week of June 2017.

The two teams participated in Hanoi Global round 2017 and the team comprising of Shrey, Sanjeet and Aamod were the runners up team in South Asia division, and out of 2000 participants, their team stood 33rd globally. Sanjeet Agarwal bagged 12 medals and also got an opportunity to represent India in debate showcase. Shrey Chhabra also won 9 medals in various events such as essay writing, scholar’s challenge and scholar’s bowl. Aamod also bagged 5 medals. Their team has also received an invitation for tournament of champions in Yale University.

The other team also performed amazingly well, where Aradhya Kukreja bagged 3 medals and secured rank 30 globally in essay writing and V. Chaitanya also won 2 medals.

 Tagoreans won accolades at the Malaysian i-RYSCE 2017 

Seven students accompanied by Ms. Gauri Sen went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to participate in the International Royal Military Young Scientist Conference and Exhibition (i-RYSCE) from 10 July to 15 July 2017.

Our school was one of the 4 schools, representing India at this expo. Among 250 plus exhibits by 11 countries. Our school bagged four bronze medals and one gold medal. The team consisted of Pranav Bhatia , Manan Bhatia of XI C , Manav Gupta of IX A, Gurmaan Singh, Garv Gupta, Manav Gupta, Kabeer Kundra and Pratyush Saini of VII C-who also won the Youngest Scientist Award at his age of 11.

Ours was the only school to win awards for each of our projects, and the ideas were also appreciated by the judges.

A few days ago, the students, on behalf of the school, met with Dr. Harshvardhan, minister at Ministry of Science & Technology (India), Ministry of Environment, Government of India, at his residence and received a certificate of appreciation, signed by him.

Not only did they have a great learning experience, they also got to tour the city, visit the Petronas Twin Towers, a Chocolate Factory, shop, and have fun.

Times NIE student of the Year Award is an initiative to felicitate Times NIE student members, who display a rare combination of talent, leadership abilities, and performance skills, academic excellence, as also recognizes their significant contribution made to society. Recognizing overall excellence, this prestigious award is given to encourage young people who stand on the threshold of a dynamic future.

Times NIE, The Times of India has selected Devarshi Paul of class XII as the awardee for the Times NIE student of the Year Award for the session 2016-17.

During his journey from class IX till date, besides maintaining an outstanding academic record, he has extensively participated in various inter school competitions and invariably won laurels for himself and the school.

Debshata Choudhury won a Gold Medal in “Kalaa Spandan International Child Art Talent Award”

‘Indian Art Promoter’ organized an online “Kalaa Spandan International Child Art Talent Award 2017” in January 2017. Debshata Choudhury of class VII C participated in it by sending 6 paintings based on themes like pollution, save wild life, say no to junk and effect of cutting down of trees on animals. He won a Gold medal along with a cheque worth Rs. 3000 and a certificate.

The United School Organization of India (USO) organized the 59th Annual All India UN information test on 31st August 2016.  The main purpose of the test is to make students aware of the aims & objectives of the UN & its specialized agencies.
