Ansh Bajaj

It is a matter of great pride for all of us as one of our students Ansh Baja of class VIII C was selected in the Delhi Table Tennis team, and represented our school in the 61st School Games Federation of Table Tennis National Championship, held at Machilipatnam this year, in the under-14 boys category and secured the first position.

  • He secured the 3rd position in the Under-14 category in the CBSE Cluster Inter-School Sports and Games Competition conducted in October, the 1st position in the Sub-Junior Boys category and the 2nd in the U-19 category in the District Table Tennis Tournament held in Delhi in 2016.
  • In the same tournament last year, he had secured the 1st position in the U-12 category.
  • "He represented Delhi Table Tennis Team at 62nd School Games Federation of Table Tennis National Championship 2016-17 under 14 boys category. Delhi team secured Winners Trophy in the Championship, after defeating teams from Maharashtra and Gujarat at Thyagraj Sports Complex, New Delhi from 02 January 2017 to 09 January 2017 "



Sohini Chakrabarti

Sohini Chakrabarti of class XII B is the Founding Project Head of Breaking Barriers- an awareness, rights and sensitization campaign for those of alternative genders and sexualities, the first gay-straight alliance of its kind at the school level in India. Breaking Barriers was initiated for the Youth Leader Competition’ 13, organized by tGELF, in which it was chosen as the best service project out of submissions from all over the country and she was awarded an all-expense paid trip to Scotland for leadership training. She is also the Editor for the Thrive Magazine- the first international e-magazine for LGBT+ youth .
She also supervise the functioning of the service initiatives operating within the school- Flawless Flaws, Kick-start Equality, Tagorean Awareness Society, Outlive Yourself and Breaking Barriers. 
In 2013, she was chosen from our school to travel to Pakistan, as part of the Exchange for Change program, initiated by Routes 2 Roots and the Citizens’ Archive of Pakistan. 
In 2014, she won the award for the Best Speaker in the NCR at the debate competition organized by tGELF and also represented the city at the National Finals. Recently, she has been invited by UNESCO to attend and speak at a Ministerial meeting on the Day against Homophobia and Tansphobia at their Paris Headquarters, as a representative of Breaking Barriers. She will be travelling to Paris from May 16- May 19, 2016. After a grueling selection process, Sohini has been chosen as one of the 28 students out of applicants from all over the world, to participate at the Global Citizen’s Youth Summit’16 to be held at Harvard University, USA in the first week of August and awarded a full scholarship of USD 5500 for the same.


 U Sai Samhita

U.Sai Samhita

U.Sai Samhita , a student of class X A started learning Carnatic Classical Music Vocal at the age of 6 under the able guidance of her mother and Guru Smt.U.V. Naga Lakshmi , a renowned vocalist.She has performed in various Sabhas like Music Appreciation Centre , Gayatri Fine Arts , Music Lovers Association and in programs conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh.She has been selected for “Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme for the year 2014” conducted by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) ,Ministry of Culture ,Govt.of India . She is also learning Flute under a doyenne of Carnatic Classical music,Sri.P.N.Krishnan,New Delhi.  She has also won second prize in Geet Sangeet competition organised by NCERT during Sanskrit week from 31 August to 01 September 2015.

 Viraj Agashe

Viraj Agashe

Viraj Agashe of class IX A is a budding Writer and Chess player . He loves writing stories and poems.In ITIHAAS Anveshan 2015 , his poem  ‘Delhi : A City of Rainbow Dreams ’ was converted into a song by the school choir , and won the Runner’s Up award in the ‘Song of the Year’ category.The lyrics were highly commended by the judges .Viraj has also represented the school in  many competitions.

Some of his achievements are – 

  • Medal of Excellence and a State Rank of 19 in the International English Olympiad 2014.
  • Gold Medal in the International English Olympiad 2013 with a State Rank of 133.
  • Gold Medal in the International English Olympiad 2012.

He also regularly participates in state level chess tournaments organized by Delhi Chess Association . His achievements in Chess include – 

  • 2nd Prize in the 2nd MCA Student’s Chess Tournament
  • 2nd Prize in the 1st CMCA Chess Tournament
  • 3rd Prize in Vidya Niketan Student’s Chess Tournaments   

 V. Chaitanya 

V. Chaitanya of class IX A is an achiever in academics as well as in other co-curricular activities. She has represented her school at various events and won laurels for her school. 

1. She has received funding of Rs.5000/- from the Department of Science and Technology as a part of the ‘INSPIRE’ Scholarships to work on her project.  

2. She has secured International rank 102 and a Zonal rank 11 at the National Cyber Olympiad. She also secured International rank 155 and a Zonal rank 13 at the National Science Olympiad for the session 2014-15.  

3. She has participated in AWIM’s Jet Toy and Skimmer Challenge in 2013 and 2014 and has represented her school at the national level event held in Bangalore. 

4. She has received “Venkatraman Iyer Award for Excellence in Bharatanatyam” from her dance institute. 


Rachita Talwar

Rachita Talwar of class VIII B is highly motivated to take Tennis as her profession. At the age of 11 she has gathered a huge experience by participating in various Tennis Tournaments at different levels  and in different states . This little shinning star has been able to bring glory to our school.

Her achievements includes:-

  • Runners up in Peninsula Tennis Championship organized by Peninsula Tennis Academy in  U-10 category .
  • Winner in Dwarka Round Robin Tennis Tournament at New Era Public School Dwarka in U-10 category.
  • Winner in Mastermind Tennis Tournament at Mastermind Tennis Academy , Pitampura in U – 10 category.
  •  Winner in AITA Bahudargarh organized by foundation Tennis Academy at Bahadurgarh , Haryana in U – 12 category.
  • Winner in Penninsula Tennis Master Championship organized by Peninsula Tennis Academy at IIT Delhi in U – 10 category.
  • Winner in Passerine Open-Tennis Tournament organized by Passerine Sports Academy , Gurgaon in U – 10 category and has also received a cheque of ₹ 5000.

 Nehal Vijay

Nehal Vijay of class X A has an art of expressing her thoughts through colors. She not only gives life to her paintings but her creative ideas has made her stand out.She has made us proud with her magnificent performance.

Her achievements includes:- 

  • She has won 1st prize in Delhi Schools Painting Competition organized by UN habitat.
  • Secured 1st position in Sanskriti Tech350 organized by Sanskriti School for painting 2014-15.
  • Grabed  1st position in T-shirt painting organized by Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute.
  • Secured  2nd position in  France Currency Designing .
  • Won consolation prize for poster making competition on the topic 'Biodiversity Sustainibility' organized by Department of Environment and Forests, government of NCT of Delhi .
  • Won 1st prize for painting/poster making competition organized by Hero Moto Corp ,for making a painting on tree plantation .



Sagnik Bhattacharya

Sagnik Bhattacharya of class XI C is highly acclaimed for his quizzing and debating skills . He has been acknowledged for his powerful convincing ability. He has participated in many interschool events and won laurels at different levels.

Dyuti Dasmahapatra

Dyuti Dasmahapatra of class VIII C is a prodigy in martial art form. She has been participating in many tournaments and has won accolades at different levels. 

Her achievement includes:-

1.      Silver Medal : At 1st Sansinkan North India Karate Championship organized by Sansinkan karate international which was held on 27th & 28th July,2013 at Samudai Bhawan, Hasthal Gauon, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi.

2.     Gold Medal : At 14th Delhi State Karate Championship organized by Karate Do Association of Delhi held on 3rd & 4th of May 2014 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium New Delhi.

3.      Gold Medal : At 2nd Sansinkan North India Karate Championship organized by Sansinkan karate international which was held on 2th & 3th August,2014 at Samudai Bhawan, Hasthal Gauon, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi.

4.      Silver Medal : At 60th National School Games 2014 -2015 in Karate Girls U- 17 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh on  7th January to 11 January  2015.

5.      Bronze Medal: At 2nd All India Invitational Karate Championship – 2015 organized by Indo Shotokan Karate Association India held on 14th April 2015 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

6.      Gold Medal: At 11th Kotaka’s Cup – All India Karate Championship 2015 organised  by International Karate Federation (India) held on 25th & 26th April, 2015 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

7.     Gold Medal: At 15th Sub Junior/Cadet/Junior & under 21 years Delhi State Karate Championship organized by Karate Do Association of Delhi held on  27th April 2015  at Talkatora Indoor Stadium New Delhi.


Kushagra Rastogi 

Kushagra Rastogi of class XII C won the Dr. H Sen Memorial Award (Best Student Award) for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities in class X, for the session 2014-15.

He and his team made the school proud by winning Gold medal for their investigative project on blood , glucose and planter pressure for detection of diabetics at Malaysian International Young Investor Olympiad ’15.

He is a computer geek and has earned himself a place in the computer club of the school as an Assistant Pyrotech Head.

His  other achievements includes:

  • He participated in the Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo, China in July 2014 and won awards for presentation, exhibition and ‘Do It Yourself’ on the spot contest for the project on Acupressure and Plantar pressure.
  • Secured the first position in various inter school computer symposiums like Ahlcon Public School and Amity International School, Saket for Digital Imaging (Photoshop).
  • Secured the first position in Exun 2014 and reached the top 10 in the TGELF National competition, ‘Harmony’ for the Movie Making event.
  • He won the zonal round of S’Cool Rock 2014, a western music competition as a guitarist in the school band.
  • He won the gold medal with an international rank of 39 in the 14th National Cyber Olympiad.
  • Won the gold medal in the Maths and English Olympiads,organized by SOF.
  • Won the silver medal in the first round and a perfect score, 100% in the second round of the French Olympiad 2014.



Avyay Suri


Avyay Suri of class X C is a cricket enthusiast. He has been pursuing a professional cricket coaching from Rohtak Road Gymkhana- Cricket Academy since May 2014.He made us proud with his splendid performance throughout the session 14-15.

He was awarded :

  • Man of the Match at First West Delhi Under- 13 Cricket Tournament organized by West Delhi Cricket Academy- September’14.
  • Best Fielder at Sardar D.S. Narang Memorial Cricket Tournament organized by Evening Sports Academy in October ’14.
  • Best Fielder/ Man of the Match/ Best Batsmen of the Series at LT. SH. Nanu Ram Memorial Cricket Tournament in January’15.  His best figure in batting during this tournament was 92 of 56 balls.
  • Man of the Match- 3 Overs 1 Run 3 Wickets and 25 runs on board at 7th LT. SH. Krishan Sehwag Cricket Tournament (Sehwag Cup) organized by Bimla Devi Cricket Center- January’15.
  • Best Bowler of the Tournament Award at 6th Sheela Devi Memorial Cricket Cup (U-15) by taking 16 wickets in 5 matches.

  • Won the Man of the match award at 4th Ramesh Chand Memorial Cricket Tournament (U-15) at Jheel Khwanja School, New Delhi . He scored 13 runs in 5 overs and took 5 wickets.

Jaskaran Singh Wahi


Jaskaran Singh Wahi of class XI B won many medals in the field of Martial Arts. The most cherished moment of Jaskaran’ s  Martial Art journey was his selection to participate in the 1st World Martial Art Council Games in Bangkok,Thailand held recently in March, 2015. He also won 9 medals overall -7 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze in various Martial Arts Championship categories  - Tae-Kwon-Do, Tang-Soo-Do and Thang-Ta. He won Gold Medal in Individual Demo and Skills category. He got highest marks in the group of 15 participants from various Countries - UK, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Chile and India to name a few. He scored 9.8 out of 10. Being a Gold Medalist, Jaskaran got wild card entry for the subsequent World Championship scheduled to be held in Dubai next year.

He achieved a new record by winning a Gold medal in 5th National Martial Art Championship. He has also been selected for Asian Jeet Kune-Do Championship to be held in Sri Lanka in May 2016.



Vanshika Sejwal


Vanshika Sejwal of class XII B won many medals at the Inter Zonal Athletic Meet for Girls organised by the Directorate of Education. She secured the 1st position in the Long Jump Event in the Under 17 Girls Category. She also got 1st position in the High Jump Event in the under 17 girls’ category. At 26th North Zone Junior Athletics Championship she won the Gold Medal.

She has set a new meet record of 1.69 m by winning Gold medal in Senior Girls High Jump at 61st National Schools Athletics Championship from 29 January -02 February 2016 at Kozhikode, Kerala .


Devarshi Paul

Devarshi Paul of class XI A is a budding poet and his poems have been published in two anthologies. He usually writes about the beauty of nature, and the need to conserve it. It was first published in “Lovelets”, a collection of poems and short stories among which his poem was appreciated by many established writers. He also had two poems published in the anthology “My Little Verse”. Devarshi is a part of the school’s Quiz Club as well as the Debate society. He has represented the school on various occasions in quiz competitions and MUNs and won accolades for the school. Adding more to his achievements , he has reached semi-finals round of "News Wiz 2016" a television quiz show on India Today.


Budding Poets work published by
NewLeaf Poets Club

Ten students from our school, Antara Agrawal and V. Chaitanya of class VIII, Abhisumat Singh, Anindita Audhkhasi, Anoushka Bhardwaj, Ishita Rao, Jaishna Singh of class IX,Sagnik Bhattacharya, Mehak Kalra and Devarshi Paul of class X, had their poems published in an anthology of poems, The Little Verse, edited by esteemed poet, Mrs. Dolly Singh, from NewLeaf Poetry Society. They all were invited to read out their poems in an event called the Delhi Poetry Festival, children’s edition. The students got a lot of appreciation from the crowd. The anthology was also released at the event. They hope to write many more poems and bring laurels to the school.


Soumya .S.Chaudhary

Soumya .S.Chaudhary  a student of class XI A , first  Tagorean to became a Black Belt First  DAN . She is also the youngest student of ITF (INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO FEDERATION) to become an "OFFICIAL UMPIRE" in the state level Tournament. Saumya bagged the Gold and Bronze medal in individual event in 13-18 years Black Belt Section. She won the Gold and Bronze in individual event and Silver in group event. The National level was held in Gujarat and her achievements contributed in taking the Delhi state the 2nd position trophy in this tournament.

She participated in the 27th North and East Zonal Taekwondo Championship at Dhanoulti, Dehradun and secured 2 Gold medals in Individual Pattern and Individual fight.




Krishang Trivedi


Krishang Trivedi of class IX C was selected for the lead role in the film "Jalpari- the Desert Mermaid" directed by Nila Madhab Panda . He made us proud with his splendid performance in the movie. Soon after completion, the movie was released in Cannes film festival on 15th May 2012.


After the international success of I Am Kalam, which won over 20 international awards Nila Madhab Panda's new feature film "Jalpari - The Desert Mermaid”, started its international journey with a screening at the Marche Du Cannes (Film Market) of the Cannes Film Festival. The movie revolves around the adventures and misadventures of brother-sister duo Shreya and Sam, who visit their father’s village which is deprived of water – and women. Starring Harsh Mayar of I Am Kalam fame, along with Krishang Trivedi.
