Lage Raho Munna Bhai’  Movie Show
Students of class I, II and III watched Rajkumar Hirani’s, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’  on 17 January 2020, as a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The movie depicted  the relevance of principles of truth, non violence and civil disobedience in the contemporary times. The students thoroughly enjoyed the movie and came up with their own ideas of practicing these principles in their daily life.
 
 
An educational trip to Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti 

Students of class IV visited Rajghat  and Gandhi Smriti on 20 January, 2020  as a part of the Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations. The students and teachers offered prayers at the Gandhi Samadhi. They also visited Gandhi Museum and observed the pictures depicting the life and sacrifices made by Gandhi. The visit concluded with students enjoying their food in a nearby park. Overall the trip was a knowledgeable experience.

 

Peace March in the school
The students of grades 6 to 8 took part in a Peace March on 24 January 2020, in the school premises. The aim of this peace march was to reinforce the Gandhian value of Ahimsa (Non-violence).
A group of 20 students, wearing khadi clothes, carried placards with quotes on peace by the Mahatma. They sang Gandhiji’s favourite bhajans, “Vaishnav jana” and “Raghupati Raghav” as they marched in the school premises with the purpose of spreading the message of non-violence by means of resolving differences, thus imbibing an important virtue in the students.
 
Panel Discussion on movie - Gandhi
The students of class XI attended a panel discussion on 30 Januray 2020, based on Mahatma Gandhi as depicted, as a character in the 1982 film, Gandhi by Sir Richard Attenborough. The discussion was a part of the yearlong celebration of the sesquicentennial (150 years) of the Mahatma Gandhi’s birth.
The panel consisted of a guest speaker, a moderator and four students. The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Neerja Singh MA, MPhil, PHd, Professor of Modern Indian History at Satyavati College , Delhi University. The other panelists were Soumya Sinha XI A, Momina Meraj XI C, Siddharth Bhattacharjee XI C and Shivanjali Mishra XI A. Ms. Maya Ray PGT Political Science of the school moderated the discussion.
The discussion was based on certain film clips from the Oscar winning movie. Each clip was followed by a discussion by the panelists and questions from the audience. Dr Neerja Singh shared her vast knowledge about various aspects of Mahatma Gandhi’s life, from his resolve to fight against injustice with the novel method of satyagraha to why Bapu’s philosophy remains a beacon of hope even today.
The students in the audience asked searching questions to clarify their information regarding aspects of Mahatma Gandhi’s life which was very lucidly explained by Dr. Singh.
The discussion lasted for two hours and was enjoyed by all.
 
Workshop on Paper Robotics for students of Classes IV & V
To develop a scientific acumen at a young age, the school introduced PAPER ROBOTICS for Classes IV & V.  A three day workshop was conducted in the school for students of classes IV & V from 28 January 2020 to 30 January 2020. Resource person Ms. Ratna Thakur Rai conducted the workshop.
Paper Robotics is learning robotics, using paper.  The students learnt to move things using basic movement mechanisms like CAM, CRANK and GEAR.  By learning the basics of the movement of mechanisms, the concept can be applied in real life scenarios. 
Basic level course was imparted in the school premises.  The level was learnt through a book graded to teach CAM, mechanisms and its applications.  Thirteen students attended the workshop.
