Dear Parents

As per CBSE guidelines, each student in classes VI to VIII is required to study THREE languages.  English is the first language and Hindi is the second language. Every student is required to study these languages as compulsory subjects.

The school offers German, French and Sanskrit as options for the third language.  All students have to opt for any ONE of the three. They have to be certain of their choice as they have to study the same language in classes VI to VIII and no change at a later date or class will be possible.  It is mandatory to secure 33% marks in the third language in classes VI to VIII, in order to be eligible for promotion to the next class.

As we have limited seats in French and German and both the languages require proficiency in the English language, an Assessment of Speaking and Listening Skills (ASL) will be conducted in February/ March 2022 as follows:

○       The listening skill assessment will be conducted via Google form.

○      The speaking skill assessment will be conducted by the respective English teacher on Google meet.

Students will be allotted the third language on the basis of the marks secured in ASL. The final decision, however, will rest with the English language teacher, the Principal as well as the availability of seats.

In Classes IX and X, the school follows the two language formula, as per the guidelines issued by the CBSE. English is compulsory and the second language will be based on the second and the third languages opted in Classes VI-VIII and the availability of seats.

Kindly click on the link https://forms.gle/rFbGofoodD1YFTPy9 stating the order of your ward’s preference for the third language.

The last date to submit the form is Thursday, 27 January 2022 by 06:00 pm. No Google form will be accepted after the given time and date.

Dear Parents,

As your ward completes Middle School and enters Senior School, she/he has to study five subjects in classes IX and X.  These are as follows: -

  1. a) English                               b)   Hindi / Sanskrit / French/ German
  2. c) Mathematics                 d)   Science
  3. e) Social Science

English is the first language and is compulsory for all students. For the second language to be studied in Classes IX & X, each student has to opt for ONE language out of the four choices given above.

Students who have studied Sanskrit up to class VIII are eligible to opt for either Sanskrit or Hindi. Similarly, students who have studied French/German, can opt for French/German or Hind .

Please be very sure of the second language that your ward would like to study as no change of subject will be possible at a later date.  The sections in Class IX will be allotted according to the students’ preference for a second language.

Dear Parents

We sincerely hope that your ward has settled in the stream and subject(s) opted by her/him. It has been noticed that some students of Class XI request for a change of stream/subject after the First term Examinations. We sincerely hope that your ward is getting adjusted to the stream and subjects opted by her/him. The students were given the opportunity to virtually walk into the classes of subjects offered by us so as to help them choose the subject of their choice, provided they are eligible for it. We would like to inform you that as per CBSE Examination bye-laws, a student has to study the same subject for two years (XI & XII) and therefore cannot change either the subject or the stream in Class XII.

In case your ward wants to change the subject or stream (subject to availability of the seats in the same), she/he should do so before Saturday, 31 July 2021. After this, NO CHANGE IN SUBJECT OR STREAM WILL BE ENTERTAINED either in Class XI or later in Class XII. Kindly make a note of this and ensure that your ward works hard in the chosen subjects and stream to avoid the need for a change in the future.

It has also been observed that there is a drastic drop in students’ academic performance in Class XI. Students tend to take academics lightly in Class XI which not only affects their grades in XI, but it also has an impact on their Class XII result. In case your ward is planning to go abroad for her/his higher studies, we would like to inform you that colleges require the mark sheet of Class XI along with all internal and external examinations of Class XII. We would advise you to guide your ward about the importance of academic grades of Class XI so that your ward does not have to face disappointment at the end of the session.

In case your ward wants to opt for a sixth subject, she/he will have to study the subject on her/his own. She/he will have to appear for the First Term and the Second Term Examination and secure a minimum of 33% marks (separately in theory and practicals) to be eligible to continue with the subject in Class XII. However, it will not have any bearing on her/his promotion to Class XII and neither can be considered in case she/he fails to secure a minimum 33% in one of the main five subjects.

The conditions for a student to be eligable to be promoted to class XII are as follow:

1. In order to be declared as having passed Class XI Examination, a student MUST obtain a minmum of 33% marks in each of the five subjects.
2. In case of subjects with a practical component, the student must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% in practical separately to qualify in that subject.
3. Is is mandatory for a student to pass in English for promotion to the next class. Is She / he scores less than 33% in English, she / he will be detained in Class XI.
4. If a student scores less than 33% in one subject, it will be considered as a compartment. The student will have to write  the compartment examination within two weeks of the declaration of the result and score above 33% for promotion to the next class.
5. If a student scores less than 33% in two or more subjects, she / he will be detained in Class XI. NO REQUEST FOR PROMOTION ON CONDITION BASIS WILL BE ENTERTAINED. ALSO, NO CHANGE OF SUBJECT WILL BE PERMITTED IN CLASS XII.

NO LENIENCY WILL BE SHOWN TOWARDS ANY CHILD FOR PROMOTION TO CLASS XII.
Kindly click on https://forms.gle/koEqanCcerRVtGH26   and submit it by Wednesday, 14 July 2021 as confirmation that you have read and understood the circular.

Dear Parents

Assessments are an integral part of a student's learning curve as it helps to gauge their understanding of the concepts. Teachers have been conducting assessments in the form of short answer questions during classroom teaching. These assessments have been diagnostic in nature and have helped the teachers to revisit the concepts/topics where they felt that the students were facing difficulties.

The weekly test will commence from Friday 09 July 2021. The schedule for the same has been shared with the students on the class Google groups.

Kindly go through the important guidelines regarding the conduct of the tests-

  • The school will be using Google forms to conduct the tests.
  • The maximum marks for each subject will be 20.
  • Students should log into the system by 7:45 am and give their attendance. They will get the link for the Google form in the meet itself.
  • Admission to the Google meet will be denied after 8:00 am.
  • Timings for the examination will be from 8:00 am to 8:40 am. This includes 5 minutes of reading time. Students will be given 15 minutes for uploading the answer sheets.
  • Students should write answers in their test notebooks or on sheets.
  • The picture of the answer sheets, to be uploaded, should be clear and legible.
  • Students must ensure that the camera is ON for the entire duration of the test.
  • You are requested to ONLY assist your ward in case of a technical problem and not to answer the questions.
  • Please ensure that there is a stable internet connection during the entire duration of the test.

The syllabus for the tests will be shared by the subject teachers through the Google group.

June 2021

Dear Parents

Each student in Class VI is required to study THREE languages viz. English, Hindi, and Sanskrit / French / German. English is the first language and Hindi is the second language that each student HAS to study. For the third language, the school offers Sanskrit, French, and German as options. A student can opt for any ONE out of the three languages i.e. Sanskrit, French, or German. They have to be certain of their choice as they will have to study the same language from Classes VI to VIII and no change at a later date or class will be possible. It is mandatory to secure 33% marks in the third language in classes VI to VIII, to be eligible for promotion to the next class.

As we have limited seats in French / German and these languages require proficiency in the English language, students must perform well in English throughout the session. The school has set eligibility criteria which are mentioned below for the allotment of the third language:

  • To be eligible to study French/German in middle school, the student should secure an A1 grade in each area of English assessment (Comprehension, Spelling & Vocabulary, Assignment and the Weekly Tests) in TERM- I and TERM - II in Class V.
  • An eligibility test (Assessment of Speaking and Learning) will be conducted in February 2022 for all students who qualify as per the above criteria.
  • However, the final decision will rest with the English language teacher and the Principal based on the grades and the marks secured in the eligibility test.

In Classes IX and X, the school follows the two language formula, as per the guidelines issued by CBSE. English is compulsory and the second language will be based on the second and the third language studied in Classes VI-VIII and availability of seats.

Kindly click on the link https://forms.gle/L5UdiUEjTFtsHxog9 to give your acknowledgment of having read the circular and understood the contents.

The last date to submit the form is Thursday, 17 June 2021 by 1700 hours.

Dear Parents

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will” – Mahatma Gandhi.

If there were some important lessons learnt during the session 2020-2021, they were of resilience and of cultivating the ‘Never Give Up’ attitude. The session 2020- 2021 was very different as we all adjusted ourselves to the new normal, when education, for the first time in human history, was organised online. The pandemic did not dampen the spirits of our students and teachers and I am proud to say that they showed extraordinary strength and came out with flying colours in the online classes.

With uncertainty about the reopening of schools, we will continue to conduct online classes till the Government allows schools to function in an offline mode. February 2021

Dear parents,

As per CBSE guidelines, each student in classes VI to VIII is required to study THREE languages.  English is the first language and Hindi is the second language. Every student is required to study these languages as compulsory subjects.

The school offers German, French and Sanskrit as options for the third language.  All students have to opt for any ONE of the three. They have to be certain of their choice as they have to study the same language in classes VI to VIII and no change at a later date or class will be possible.  It is mandatory to secure 33% marks in the third language in classes VI to VIII, in order to be eligible for promotion to the next class.

As we have limited seats in French and German and both the languages require proficiency in the English language, an Assessment of Speaking and Listening skills (ASL) will be conducted in February/ March 2021 as follows:

  • The listening skill assessment will be conducted via Google form.
  • The speaking skill assessment will be conducted by the respective English teacher on Google meet.

Kindly click on the link  https://forms.gle/H3wnwRUJndLTvcim9 stating the order of your ward’s preference for the third language.

The last date to submit the form is Monday 08 February 2021 by 06:00 pm. No Google form will be accepted after the given time and date.

October 2020

Dear Parents

Our students of classes X and XII have completed their Mid Term Examination and marks of most of the subjects have been shared with them. We will be organizing a PTM on Saturday 07 November 2020 to share the Mid Term report card.

We appreciate students who undertook these exams honestly and have lived up to the values taught by their parents and the school. We have also come across answer sheets which were attempted by taking help from various sources (textbooks / Google etc.), which reflects misplaced values amongst these students.

As we wait for the orders from the government for reopening of schools, we feel we should give our students another round of practice of writing a test. Keeping this in mind we are organizing revision tests from Tuesday, 24 November 2020. The tests will be conducted on online or offline mode as per the guidelines issued by the government.

The guidelines for the tests are as follows:

  1. Tests will be conducted online on the Assess Prep Portal. In case the government allows schools to re-open, these tests will be conducted in the school.
  2. Students of class XII who want predicted scores for their college admissions, must come to the school and write the tests physically. They must bring along with them a consent letter from their parents stating the permission for the same.
  3. The syllabus for the tests will include the topics covered from July 2020 to 15 November 2020. The same will be sent to the students on their google groups by Wednesday, 28 October 2020.
  4. Tests for each subject will be based on the CBSE pattern and carry the same weightage of marks as assigned by the CBSE.
  5. The duration of the tests will be three and a half hours i.e. from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, inclusive of the time for reading and uploading the paper. (Except the Painting test for class XII).
  6. Although every test will commence at 9:00 am but the login time will be 8:50 am.
  7. There will be no practicals for the revision tests.
  8. Preparatory leave will be from Friday, 20 November 2020 to Monday, 23 November 2020.
  9. For class X please note that the students will appear for the Basic / Standard Mathematics test as per the choice opted by them.
  1. Regular online classes will commence from Monday, 07 December 2020.

Dear Parents

Assessments are an integral part of a student's learning curve as it helps to gauge their understanding of the concepts. Teachers have been conducting assessments in the form of MCQs and one mark answers during the classroom teaching. These assessments have been diagnostic in nature and have helped the teachers to revisit the concepts/topics where they felt that the students were facing difficulty.

We have completed a substantial part of the syllabus and we feel a need to assess the students' understanding of the concepts taught in a more comprehensive manner. Thus we plan to conduct weekly tests starting from October 2020 and continuing till January 2021.

Kindly go through the important guidelines regarding the conduct of the tests-

  • The school will be using the Google forms to conduct the tests.
  • The maximum marks for each subject will be 25.
  • Students should log into the system by 7:50 am and mark their attendance. They will get the link for the test in the meet itself.
  • Admission to the Google meet will be denied after 8:00 am.
  • Timings for the examination will be from 8:00 am to 8:40 am. It includes 5 minutes of reading time. Students will be given 10 minutes extra for uploading the answer sheets.
  • Students should write answers to each question on a separate sheet.
  • The picture of the answer sheets, to be uploaded, should be clear and legible.
  • Syllabus for the tests will be shared by the subject teachers through the Google classroom.

CYBER SAFETY POLICY

Bullying in any form is strictly prohibited inside or outside the school premises and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished”

This Cyber Safety Policy of Tagore International School East of Kailash, explains the desired Student Code of Conduct. This policy is to engage all students, teaching and non-teaching staff   and parents in an effort against cyber bullying, as part of the moral and administrative fabric of the school.

Our school has an obligation to provide a safe, secure and caring environment. We maintain a zero tolerance policy towards bullying of students and staff, either using technology or otherwise.

DEFINITIONS:

  • Cyber safety refers to safe and desirable practices in online environments and in the use of electronic and ICT equipment devices.
  • ICT Equipment/devices include, but is not limited to, computers, laptops, tablets, storage devices, cameras, all types of mobile phones, video and audio players/receivers, social networking sites, and any other technologies as they come into use.
  • Cyber Bullying involves the unwanted use of electronic equipment devices to harass and cause discomfort to other members of the school community.

IMPLEMENTATION:

Being involved in online spaces requires students to behave responsibly - for themselves and others. This includes:

  • appropriate use of language
  • upholding democratic values
  • respect for diversity and equality
  • respect for privacy and dignity of others
  • no violation of the human rights
  • not visit any in-appropriate sites
  • respect for people's property (e.g. copyright)

BEHAVING SAFELY ONLINE MEANS:

  • protecting their own privacy and personal information
  • selecting appropriate spaces to work and contribute
  • protecting the privacy of others (this can be sharing personal information or images)
  • being proactive in letting a parent/ guardian or teacher know if something is 'not quite right'

These principles of safety and responsibility apply to Internet and social media use at home and at school.

THE SCHOOL WILL:

  • make students aware of the benefits and risks of using ICT.
  • integrate cyber safety education into the curriculum with other school safety issues.
  • promote staff awareness of their professional responsibilities for students’ well-being in the area of cyber safety.
  • provide information to parents through information on school website , SMS newsletter, website, posters and workshops.

THE STUDENT WILL

  • sign an agreement to abide by the school's cyber safety policy that aims to prevent bullying and harassment.
  • ensure that all material being accessed on the internet is appropriate.
  • seek clarification about accessing websites or other sources of information where they may be unsure of content.
  • ensure that their communication with other students, staff members and community members does not result in personal harassment , vilification or attack. This includes, but is not limited to, written words and the posting of images.
  • ensure that they do not log in using a fake identity.
  • report any communications which are inappropriate, to parent/guardians or a teacher, when ICT equipment devices are used out of school time.

THE PARENT WILL

  • explain the “internet use permission form” to their ward/s.
  • support the school in encouraging responsible use of ICT equipment/devices by their ward.

SCHOOL BASED ACTIONS AND CONSEQUENCES

Ø  If a student is found to be involved in any misconduct, it will be considered as an informed decision / choice made by the student to engage in such activity. It will NOT be considered as a mistake.  Following action will be taken in such situations:
  • Oral/written warning.
  • Suspension from attending classes/school for a specified period.
  • Withholding or cancelling the result.
  • Expulsion/rustication from school in extreme cases.

This policy will be reviewed annually.

April 2020

Dear Parent

Greetings from TIS, EoK!

We sincerely hope that you are safe and are staying indoors. It has been a long time since we have had an interaction with you. Had we been living in normal circumstances, things would've been different. As was planned, school would have reopened for your ward on the 7th of April 2020. But as we struggle to come to terms with these circumstances where a pandemic of this magnitude has derailed the best of planning in the whole world, we are looking for ways and means to minimize the academic loss for our students.

With this intent, we are proceeding ahead with the academic session for Class XI from Monday, 20 April 2020.

Your ward has been allotted a stream/subjects as per her/his eligibility for it keeping in mind the Pre-board result and the internal assessments. We reiterate that if your ward gets the required marks as per the eligibility criteria when the CBSE Board result is declared, we will look into requests for changes, subject to availability of seats.

One of our best practices in the past years has been that of extending an opportunity to students to explore Science, Commerce and Humanities streams as per their eligibility to know the finer nuances of the subjects. So the plan for the first two days of Class XI is a 'Virtual Walk into a Classroom'. The teachers will be happy to take their queries.

The plan is as follows:

Also note that students can opt for the sixth subject once the school reopens for the session. They will be permitted to take the sixth subject only on the following conditions:

  • They will have to study the subject on their own. There will be no classes conducted for the sixth subject.
  • Students will have to appear for the half yearly and final examination in the sixth subject. Schedule for the same will be shared with students along with the Mid term exam and End Term Examination.
  • Students will have to secure a passing grade in these exams to be eligible to continue with the same in class XII.

We sincerely hope that the endeavour of the school to bring a better understanding of subjects for which your ward is eligible and 'A Virtual Walk into a Classroom' will be a fruitful exercise for your ward to discover her/his calling.

April 2020

Dear Parent

We hope that you and your family are safe and coping well during this period of lockdown.

This is a very challenging time for all of us; we have to ensure that the students do not miss out on their academics, and on the other hand you are also getting an opportunity to engage with your children and spend quality time with them. This is a new experience for all of us - I would like to call it a ‘New Normal’.

You have already received the detailed circular about our academic plan during this lockdown period. I would like to further bring to your notice the following points:

ACADEMIC PRORGRAMMES:

  • For classes VI to XII - Our faculty of the senior school has remained in contact with their students through online classes. Students are also being given online assessments, and based on the results of these assessments teachers are conducting remedial classes too. We have received appreciation from many of you, and it is indeed a matter of pride for us that the students are benefitting from these classes.
  • For classes I to V - Our teachers of junior school have been sending study material, links of videos, and their recorded lessons along with regular exercise schedule prepared by our sports department. The students are given skill-based assessments – cognitive, creative, and scientific and thinking skill tasks, prepared by the teachers. Students and parents have appreciated the efforts of the teachers and have been sending appreciation emails.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

  • Recognizing that the students must be having time on their hands at present, and especially to keep them engaged over the weekend, very soon students of Classes VI to VIII will be given Activity sheets (on Fridays). They will be fun exercises to test them on General Awareness, Creativity, Vocabulary, and Numeracy skills.
  • Besides conducting academic activities, school has also started participating in various inter-school events. Our students of classes VI to VIII participated in an online debate competition organized by UNESCO and Brainwiz. Zaid Sidiqui of class VI D qualified for the finals.
  • Our students of class XI participated in a quiz competition, and Shoptik Roy and Lakshika Khurana of class XI, and Dhruv Kaushik Thakker of class X, qualified for the finals of Quizinteen.
  • Students have also been engaged in creating various awareness videos, which has got appreciation from various forums. You may check the school’s social media handles (https://instagram.com/tagore_eok & Tagore International School East of Kailash Facebook page, and school you tube link) to see the videos.
  • Many students of class XI have registered for an orientation course on Non Violent Communication, organised by Gandhi Smrit & tGelf, which is the need of the hour. Students of classes X to XII also have been sent information about online internship by MIT and Harvard University.
  • Our teachers have been attending various online workshops on puppetry, mathematical skills and other skill enhancement programmes.
  • We have also designed many inter-class, inter-house and inter-school activities which will be rolled out in the first week of May. In fact, the Inter House Activities for Classes VI to XII have already been put up on the Google groups and dates for the online competitions shared with the students. We expect a hearty participation. This is to give students a platform to learn from each other, besides showcasing their talents.

At the end, I would like to thank you parents for your continued support. Your letters of appreciation have helped our staff stay motivated during these challenging times. We have realized the value of technology as an important tool to stay connected with our students and will make constructive use of it in future too.

We look forward to more fruitful interactions and feedback from you.

LET CAREERS BE BORNE OUT OF INTEREST AND NOT PER CHANCE

Dear Parent

Given the manner in which the World has been evolving over the years, we are moving ever closer to a Transnational Economy and a Boundary less World where our Career Choices need to be Dynamic and laden with a Degree of Pragmatism. The Career Choices need not be Conventional in nature rather the Choices should be driven around the fact that What Interests a Student and gives the individual Success in a field where his/her Soul is.

We at Tagore International School believe in giving students opportunity to explore various career options and empower students to take informed decisions with respect to their career choice. Keeping this in mind we had organised a Boot Camp in collaboration with Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. It was a great success and I am confident that sessions gave you an insight to a career choice of your interest.

In the continuation of this programme, we have collaborated with The University of Arizona, USA and are organising the second Boot Camp, comprising of sessions conducted by inspiring and knowledge experts from the university.

The virtual event will be held on Friday, 25 September, 2020 at 09:00 am. Please register for any one session according to your interest latest by 9.00 am on Thursday, 24 September 2020.

Dear Parent

Each student in Class VI is required to study THREE languages viz. English, Hindi and Sanskrit / French / German. English is the first language and Hindi is the second language which each student HAS to study. For the third language, the school offers Sanskrit, French and German as the options.  A student can opt for any ONE out of the three languages i.e. Sanskrit, French or German. They have to be certain of their choice as they will have to study the same language from Classes VI to VIII and no change at a later date or class will be possible.  It is mandatory to secure 33% marks in the third language in classes VI to VIII, in order to be eligible for promotion to the next class. As we have limited seats in French / German and these languages require proficiency in the English language, it is mandatory for students to perform well in English throughout the session. The school has set eligibility criteria which are mentioned below for the allotment of the third language:

  • To be eligible to study French/German in middle school, the student should secure an A grade in each area of English assessment (Comprehension, Spelling & Vocabulary and Assignment) in ALL THREE TERMS in Class V.
  • An eligibility test will be conducted in February 2021 for all students who qualify as per the above criteria.
  • The final decision, however, will rest with the English language teacher and the Principal based on the grades and the marks secured in the eligibility test.

In Classes IX and X, the school follows the two language formula, as per the guidelines issued by CBSE. English is compulsory and the second language will be based on the second and the third language studied in Classes VI-VIII and availability of seats.

Kindly click on the link  https://forms.gle/L5UdiUEjTFtsHxog9  to give your consent of having read the circular and understood the contents.

The last date to submit the form is Monday, 10 August 2020 by 1700 hours.

Dear Parent

We sincerely hope that your ward has settled in the stream and subject(s) opted by her/him. It has been noticed that some students of Class XI request for a change of stream/subject after the Half-Yearly Examinations.   We would like to inform you that as per CBSE Examination bye-laws, a student has to study the same subject for two years (XI & XII) and therefore cannot change either the subject or the stream in Class XII.

In case your ward wants to change the subject or stream (subject to availability of the seats in the same), she/he should do so before Thursday, 30 July 2020. After this, NO CHANGE IN SUBJECT OR STREAM WILL BE ENTERTAINED either in Class XI or later in Class XII. Kindly make a note of this and ensure that your ward works hard in the chosen subjects and stream to avoid the need for a change in the future.

  • It has also been observed that there is a drastic drop in students’ academic performance in Class XI.
  • In case your ward wants to opt for a sixth subject, she/he will have to study the subject on her/his own. She/he will have to appear for the Mid Term and the End Term Examination and secure a minimum of 33% marks (separately in theory and practicals) to be eligible to continue with the subject in Class XII. However, it will not have any bearing on her/his promotion to Class XII and neither can be considered in case she/he fails to secure minimum 33% in one of the main five subjects.

The conditions for a student to be eligible to be promoted to class XII are as follows:

  1. In order to be declared as having passed Class XI Examination, a student MUST obtain a minimum of 33% marks in each of the five subjects.
  2. In case of subjects with a practical component, the student must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% in practical separately to qualify in that subject.
  3. It is mandatory for a student to pass in English for promotion to the next class. If she/he scores less than 33% in English, she/he will be detained in Class XI.
  4. If a student scores less than 33% in onesubject, it will be considered as a compartment. The student will have to write the compartment examination within two weeks of the declaration of the result and score above 33% for promotion to the next class.
  5. If a student scores less than 33% in two or more subjects, she/he will be detained in Class XI. NO REQUEST FOR PROMOTION ON CONDITIONAL BASIS WILL BE ENTERTAINED. ALSO, NO CHANGE OF SUBJECT WILL BE PERMITTED IN CLASS XIINO LENIENCY WILL BE SHOWN TOWARDS ANY CHILD FOR PROMOTION TO CLASS XII.

JULY 2020

Dear Parent

CBSE has introduced Two Levels of Assessment in Mathematics in Class X - Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic (curriculum being the same, the assessment of Basic Mathematics will be of an easier level as compared to Mathematics Standard).

To acquaint you more about the two levels of Mathematics introduced by CBSE during session 2019-2020, the syllabus, classroom teaching and internal assessment for both levels will remain the same to allow the students to study the whole range of topics throughout the year; however, testing will be different. We also wish to inform you that Mathematics Standard will be meant for students who wish to pursue Mathematics in their +2 level whereas Mathematics Basic will be for the students who are not keen on pursuing Mathematics at higher levels.  The school will offer two levels of assessment during the Pre Board examination/ Revision examination, as and when we are able to conduct.

Kindly note that students who would like to pursue Science,  Commerce and Humanities with Mathematics in Classes XI & XII will have to compulsorily appear for Mathematics Standard in their Board examination to be conducted in March 2021.

Students will have to make a choice to opt for the level of Mathematics they would like to appear for in the Board Examination and the same has to be submitted to CBSE at the time of submission of List of Candidates (LoC) by the school in the month of September 2020. We request you to discuss with your ward her/ his choice of Mathematics Standard or Basic for Board Examination-2021. No request for a change will be entertained once you have submitted your ward's preference.

Kindly send your ward's preference by clicking on the given form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1H_iOHGqyCLCu_TnJ5g-2RbaCewDhL7iSoWMHSY4OThE/edit

Girls with long hair should tie their hair in a pony-tail or a plait.  After a verbal and written warning in case of the student defaulting, she/ he will not be allowed to attend classes.
g) Application for leave of absence for up to three days has to be sent through the Record of Non-Attendance in the school almanac, for leave of more than three days, prior permission from the Principal is mandatory. Absence from school for four or more days, without prior permission, will result in the student’s name being struck off. In case the parent is unable to send an application for any reason, the class teacher should be informed about the absence through a message or a phone call before 7:45 am. You also have an option of sending the leave application on the school email id- This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
h) ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL WEEKLY TESTS, MID-TERM EXAMINATIONS AND END-TERM EXAMINATIONS. No student will be allowed to leave school after a weekly test, for any reason. If a student is unwell, she/he should not come to school on that day.
i) Parents can meet the Principal/ Headmistress between 09:00 am and 10:00 am on any working day and the teachers on any working Saturday, with prior appointment.
j) The Year Planner will be given to each student at the beginning of the new session. This has information about all activities, assessments and other schedules for the entire session. Kindly refer to it regularly.
k) It is VERY IMPORTANT that you inform the class teacher and the office immediately about any change in your residential address and/ or telephone number, to update the school record.
l) Please check the school website www.tagoreint.com regularly for circulars, updates and news about school events. We are trying to minimize the use of paper used in sending hard copies of circulars home. As we have already initiated a plan to go to Zero waste, all invites for various functions will be sent through sms only.
m) The school has an online portal for the benefit of the students and parents. Through this portal the parents can access circulars, handouts, assignments and important messages which are posted by the teachers/ school administration.
n) Mobile phones are strictly prohibited for students of Classes Nursery to X.  Classes XI & XII students are allowed to carry mobile phones with a written request from the parents which needs to be submitted to the class teacher in the beginning of the session.  They should keep the mobile phones switched off throughout the school hours.  If students are seen violating this rule, phones will be confiscated and not returned.
o) NO student is allowed to drive a vehicle to school. Anybody violating this rule will be reported to the police.
p) If your ward travels to and from the school in a private van, please ensure that the driver and conductor are licensed; the vehicle is well-maintained and registered with the RTO, and is NOT running on LPG.
q) As a special initiative, we made our cafeteria free of one time use plastic by encouraging our students to bring tiffins from home if they wished to eat from the cafeteria.  We received a thumping response to the initiative and will continue to do the same in future as well.  We request you to give an empty tiffin box to your ward if she/he wishes to buy food from the cafeteria.
r) We have observed that the students, who come to school empty stomach, often report to the school clinic, complaining of giddiness or headache during assembly. Kindly ensure children have a nutritious breakfast before coming to school and also carry their mid-day meal with themselves as food packets brought by parents or anyone else will not be handed over to the students. The school café facility is also extended to the students. Students of Classes I to V are allowed to use the café facility only once a week on fixed days. Students are advised not to bring more than `40/- to school for café facility.
s) It is indeed a matter of great pleasure to celebrate the birthday of your ward in our school. While doing so parents may send only toffees for distribution in the class. We would earnestly request the parents not to send any other gift items or request for any class party on this occasion. The gifts, if sent, shall be returned. We hope that the parents understand this rule as a matter of discipline and appreciate the same.
t) Parents must carry the ID cards issued to them whenever they come to school.
u) At any point in time, student will be handed over only to the persons whose photographs are affixed on the ID card.

At the end we wish to reiterate that being a secular school, we request you not to expose your children to talks that centre around religion and politics, which their young minds may not be able to understand and assimilate. Please teach them to respect all religions and nationalities, as we do in school.

Dear Parent

A Day Camp, engaging students in physical activities, offers a structured opportunity for children to grow.  It is a unique opportunity for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident, picking up interpersonal skills through even learning new skills.  With the focus on group activities, the students learn to overcome challenges and enjoy their WOW moment.  It provides children with experiential education that leads to appreciation for life.

With this aim, our school has partnered with Rocksport to organize a day camp for students of Classes Nursery & KG in the school ground on Friday, 28 February 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.   The cost of the camp is ₹650/-.  The price is inclusive of adventure activities and all meals.

If you wish your ward to be a part of this camp, kindly fill in the consent and send it along with the amount in cash to the class teacher in a labelled sealed envelope, latest by Thursday, 20 February 2020.  The entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  The detailed itinerary will be shared on confirmation.

Dear Parent

The city of Delhi has a long and glorious history and a vibrant culture. Citizens of Delhi live in a pluralistic society which has amalgamated its new and old elements in its right spirit. But very often, century old buildings go unnoticed as the modern architecture tends to overshadow the older areas of the city.

Our school has joined hands with Itihaas, a trust run by a group of committed people who take school children on heritage walks across the city. The students see places that played a part in Delhi’s political and cultural history, listen to stories about them and meet with people who bring that history alive.

We need to famillarize our students with our heritage and with this objective we are organizing the heritage walk for students of Classes VI to VIII, as per the schedule given. The cost mentioned is the fee per student for each walk, which will include the cost of the tickets & professional guidance. The walk will be conducted during school hours.

Dear Parent

As per CBSE guidelines, each student in Classes VI to VIII is required to study THREE languages.  English is the first language and is compulsory for all. Hindi is the second language and is compulsory for Indian students. However, the nationals of other countries are exempted from studying Hindi.

The school offers German, French and Sanskrit as options for the third language in Class VI (2020-2021).  All students have to opt for any ONE of the three.  They have to be certain of their choice as they have to study the same language for the next three years and no change at a later date or class will be possible.  A student will require to score a minimum of D grade in the final assessment of the third language to be eligible to be promoted to the next class.

Since, there are limited seats in the German and French sections, the students will be allowed to opt for German or French on the basis of their grades in English in Class V. The student has to score a minimum of A2 in each area of English assessment and A1 in conversation and text in ALL THREE TERMS in Class V.

You are requested to state your order of preference for the third language in the acknowledgement given below and submit it to the class teacher by Monday, 03 February 2020.
